Moves and changes at Capestorm

There has recently been plenty of activity at Capestorm.

Capestorm has expanded its presence in Gauteng with two new stores in Johannesburg. In the recently upgraded Bedford Centre they opened a 113sq metre store, which stocks most of the company's range including cyclewear. Across town the Clearwater Mall now has a 180 sq metre Capestorm store.

Capestorm together with Montrail footwear again showed the opposition a clean pair of heals in the Cape Odyssey 200km 5 day trail race in October. Marketing Manager Ian Little took a second consecutive race victory after last year's win in the Mixed competition. This year with new partner and Triathlon Age Group World Champion Viv Williams, he triumphed in the Master competition (for pairs both over the age of 40). The pair also won 3 of the 5 individual stages in this tough race which takes in over 5000m of climbing. Last year's overall winners, Dion Middlekoop and Will Robinson of Montrail/Capestorm men, finished third overall and won 2 of the 5 stages.

Little has announced his engagement to Kathy Mc Quaide (left), a sports scientist at the Sports Institute of South Africa. They are due to marry in March 2009.

Capestorm announced the appointment of a number of regional representatives who will service the needs of their expanding independent sales department.

Peter Brunnschweiler (above left), the charismatic Chairman of Capestorm, died peacefully on Sunday 26 October. "Mr B", as he was affectionately known, was an enthusiastic driving force in support of Capestorm since 2000 and his vision and passion will be greatly missed - especially by the Capestorm staff, many of whom have known Brunnschweiler for all their working lives.
