Press release

Egypt's World Number two squash player Amr Shabana has signed a Global footwear sponsorship agreement with HI-TEC Sports for a further year. Amr has been a Hi-Tec sponsored player for the past 3 years.

In July 08 Shabana celebrated his 28th successive month as world number one in the Dunlop PSA Men's World Rankings - thus confirming his status as the fifth longest-standing world number one of all-time, behind Pakistanis Jansher Khan and Jahangir Khan, Englishman Peter Nicol and Australian Geoff Hunt.

The achievement is the latest milestone in the 28-year-old's impressive squash career which features 21 PSA Tour titles from 31 final appearances, including 12 Super Series crowns and World Open trophies in 2003, 2005 and 2007.

The extended agreement will see the two times world champion sporting the exclusive 4:SYS Squash World Squash Championship (black / yello) model, launched specifically for the 2008 HI-TEC World Squash Championships. He joins World Champion David Palmer, in wearing the brands revolutionary new 4:SYS Squash shoes.

Shabana comments: "It is great to be a part of such a famous Squash brand, I know of the work that has gone into their new shoes and it was great to wear on court. The cushioning and grip is fantastic, they are so comfortable, light and they really help my game and protect my body. I am looking forward to continue to competing in them."

Over 2 years development the revolutionary 4: SYS Squash shoes have been independently tested by biomechanics experts Quintic Consultancy. Specifically designed to cater for dynamics of movement in Squash they boast up to 38% better impact absorption, up to 35% total reduction in force and up to 6 times better grip than any other brand tested.
